Welcome to our  school

The Painsley Catholic High School, situated in Cheadle, is a Voluntary Aided Catholic High School established by the Archdiocese of Birmingham for boys and girls of all abilities between the ages of 11 and 18. The school's Motto, "Know Yourself", and the Mission Statement stress the uniqueness of the individual child, our belief in Gospel values, a commitment to excellence, a concentration on strengths and the quality of relationships.

The school serves the rural Staffordshire Moorlands and parts of the city of Stoke-on-Trent.  Included in this area is Cheadle and the neighbouring parishes of Leek, Uttoxeter, Tean, Cresswell, Fulford, Alton, Caverswall, Werrington, Meir, Kingsley and Cotton.

Painsley combines traditional values with a commitment to growth.  It is an ordered and caring community with an emphasis on the highest standards of conduct and learning.  Successful teaching across the ability range produces results way above local and national standards.  A key factor in our success is the quality and dedication of the whole staff, teaching and non-teaching, who work in a close partnership with parents.  We have high expectations of all our pupils and encourage them to develop as individuals so that they can fulfill their highest possible potential in all areas of school life.  The size of the school is large enough to offer the full range of educational experience, within and beyond the curriculum, and yet is still small enough to give individual attention to each pupil.

True learning takes place in a disciplined and caring environment.  For this reason our emphasis is always on good behaviour, positive attitudes and hard work.

Painsley has received two outstanding Ofsted Reports and was recognised for excellence in Her Majesty's Chief Inspector's Annual Report.  We are now a Beacon school.  We aim to build on the success of the past, to strengthen the values and achievements of the present, and to prepare for the developments of the future.
